War song:

“Are you listening?” I hear
As the band starts to play,
While I take in the chaos
And look to the fray,
For someone so bold
To start up the night.
But this voice in my head
Tells me that I’m not right.

“Who are you?” he hisses
As I start for the middle.
So I stop for a second,
For this voice was far too fickle.
“You’re a mess,” he continued
With merciless plight,
Listing falters and failures
And sin-ridden blight.

But then I remembered
What I knew before,
That this voice was a liar,
With ammo galore.
So I pressed onward to two-step
With all of my might
For the One who had brought me
From darkness to light

So if it’s a battle he wants,
Then it’s war that we’ll give him
For we are the army of saints -
The forgiven.
Our scars pour out healing;
Our failures, restoration;
Our bigotry, reconciliation
to all of the nations

From now on we walk tall
And the demons will cower,
Not from what we have done,
But through Christ and His power.
That’s rescued my soul
And ransomed my name
To bring glory to God
Through forgetting my shame.

Though arrows fly fast
With their fiery blaze
To render our live useless,
Unfit for the change,
We raise fists with our shields
and his banner that flickers
For the One with the Ones,
My God, The Light-bringer.

Am I missing?:

So I have been terrible at keeping this blog up as of late, but I have some good excuses... or can at least makes some up!

In the past couple of weeks, I have been two wedding - one in Ohio, one in eastern Pennsylvania - (each of which I caught the garter... I am apparently the next in line), went to visit friends and internship church family in Indiana, drove 1500 miles to make my voyage, made plans for a weekend candidacy in Wisconsin, have taken and given several phone calls regarding full time youth ministry jobs, and had one of my dearest friends come to visit me, subsequently rescue me from perils of unspeakable horror, and just have a good time of reminder of why I wished these times!

So here is my post. It's a small one, but I'll give more news soon. I hear that these blogs are easier to read when they're smaller... I tend to ramble....just like now.
