Lord, Have Mercy!:

Does it surprise you at all to hear something like that? We use so many psuedo swear words. I'm just as guilty. Walking down the wall today though, I heard one of the daycare employees utter the phrase which entitles this blog. It got me to wondering: has anyone dared to challange that statement or similar ones?

In my mind, as I walked past, I was thinking, "Ma'am, He does have mercy... in fact He's showing it to you right now by not dropping the floor out from underneith you, by seeing that you are well fed and well clothed, by the undeniable fact that last night you went to sleep with no assurance that you would be waking up the next day and here you stand asking for mercy from the One who gives it freely. It is because of His mercy that while on your way to this job (which it seems like you're asking Him to take away from you) you're car didn't combust into an devistating inferno after an accident that you didn't intend on having or that the fleas of a thousand camel have not invested your living quarters. It's because of His mercy that He provided a way of atonement so He's not pissed at you and the rest of the population of this planet for being a sinful, fallen person."

Forgive my tyrade. I am wearing my cranky pants today. Chalk it up to a deficiency in sleep. I suck at sleeping any more...
