Walk in The Park:
As many of you know, I am still pretty ill, so again, I had to take another day off. This plague thing really bothers me. I HATE being sick. It is almost a control issue. I mean, I have no say over whether I'm hacking junk up or not. I'd perfer the "not" part. So needless to say, I had to take another day off of work... which bothers me because that means that my next paycheck will be less than I'd like it to be.
So the family decided that it was the day to go to Pennsylvania's slightly unnoticed amusement resort... Knoeble's Grove. It was WGRC day (WGRC is the local Christian Radio Station) and the band that my dad plays bass for and my friend Ryan does keyboarding and a little acoustic was playing. I am not all together fond of the group, not because of the musicians, but because of the vocalists. They can't sing.... they can harmonize, which is more than I can do (but I'm working on that one), but there is no melody to ANY of their songs. I think that the last time I saw them, I fell asleep.
I went to give my support, but it was my intention to ride rollercoasters for several hours. I did ride some, took the kids on some too, that was great. Gus, my 8-year-old hyperactive little brother, went on a coaster with me called "The Twister". It was hilarious, I have never seen a more boy turn more white in my life... accept for that time when I saw that video of Dave Klob rapping.....and DC Talk... Anyway, it was definately good times.
After enduring part of the concert, we went home and I had a chance to share my thoughts on the matter with Dad on the way. The band isn't happy with the girls' vocals. You can't really tell them that either because they don't wanna hear the bad stuff. Anywho, I'm not going to publish all of the faults of the group, but you get the picture that it's not the best situation.
I closed the evening off by going to Matt's birthday party (not Matt Keith... though I wish I could have hung out with him last night too.) and hanging with some people that I have not been able to catch up with for ages. For example, Anna. She and I have had some very off the wall conversations, including the imfamous Martha Stewart conspiracy... all I have to say is this: two and a half years ago, I said that something was not right in the land of America's happy homemaker and everyone thought I was crazy...read the news, watch TV, and you'll understand that 2 and a half years ago, I called it.
I was there until about 2 AM-ish and then decided to that it was time to enter a coma-like state for the next couple of hours.... it is now my intention to play video games and read my book for several hours today.
