It's Only Going to Get Better:

I love Apple computers. I've loved them even when other people thought you were stupid for loving them - before the iPod reigned as king of portable music, before "i" came before every product name... before "PowerPC" was Apple's in-your-face response to the corperately Windows world. Back in that day, I rocked out an Apple IIgs and that was the bomb!

I am continually intregued by Apple's ability to make us all cock our heads sideways in ask "Can they REALLY do that?" This has been a year full of those innovations. First, it was the Mac mini. That tiny thing that you could fit four of in a shoebox. Then, it was the iPod nano - the thinnest, slickest, little-black (or white)-dressed iPod. How baffled by that were we? Now Apple is offering their flagship iPod with video capability in the same sleekness as the Nano (but a little wider).

What I almost peed my pants over though was not that. it was this:

Oh, it's the new iMac with a remote control and built in iSight! What the crap?! With a little in depth reading, I found that there is a new program that comes on it called Front Row - which is essentially the new iPod's menu system - it allows you to watch movies, photo slideshows, and listen to music all from the tiny remote - which looks about as big as an iPod shuffle.

I love how chimeric Apple computers have become. As soon as Apple comes out with a technology, the next thing you know - it's integrated within itself in so many different ways. It's sort of like Cell from DBZ... or if you're not as big a dork as me... like Frankenstein, only pretty.

*Addendum: I also discovered that the latest iTunes update integrates Quicktime video... I am seriously baffled as to what to expect next. Simply wicked.

That's exactly what I was was thinking before I researched it! I can't wait to see what they do with the next wave of laptops!
